Sale-a-Bration is, without doubt, my favorite Stampin' Up! promotion!
Now, with TWO Sale-a-Bration promotions, we get DOUBLE the fun!
This week, I am featuring two of the products that you can earn free when you place an order of $50 or more. My projects this week will all use the Hippest Hippos Stamp Set and Hippos Dies. I've used these two products in a variety of ways-I hope you love them as much as do!
Today's cards are from my recent Hippest Hippos Card Class, which is part of my Free Online Card Class series on Facebook. If you haven't joined that group, I hope you'll click on the link at the bottom of this post and join in the fun!
These cards are exactly the same, except that I flipped the DSP strips over so you can see both variations. This DSP is from the Brights 6"x6" Designer Series Paper Pack. Both the dots and the plaid are fun summer prints that look great with the hippo!
I used the Hippo Dies to cut out the hippo, as well as the boat, propeller, sunglasses, waves and life ring.
In the video, I also shared a few tips for the die-cuts and embellies on this card:
Tip #1: Apply our Adhesive Sheets to the back of the Pacific Point and Basic Black cardstock before die-cutting the sunglasses. This makes it super easy to adhere those tiny pieces!
Tip #2: Use a sponge dauber to add Balmy Blue ink to the life ring die before running it through your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. The ink will make the embossed details on the life ring pop!
Tip #3: Use a Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Marker to re-color the Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon. Custom color embellies are super easy!
Have you fallen in love with these cute hippos yet? Join me each day this week here on the blog as I share more projects made with the Hippest Hippos Stamp Set and Hippos Dies.
You can also get the cutting dimensions and watch the video where I created these cards by joining my
Free Online Card Classes group on Facebook. This, and all of my past online classes, are all available there under Media > Videos.
