3D Thursday: Be Jolly Christmas to Remember Frame

Picture This...a Faux Trifold Card!

 

Many of you may know that I do a weekly Facebook Live video every Wednesday.  I show you how to make a different fun fold card each week!  These are quick videos...between 25-30 minutes long, but I show you from start to finish how to create the card.

This week, I shared what I'm calling a "Faux Trifold Card".  It's not a "true" trifold, as the card base is not divided into 3 sections.  Instead, I adhered a slightly smaller card inside my regular card base to that it gives the illusion of a trifold-but it's super simple to create!

I used the Picture This Dies to create perfectly placed "windows" in the front of my card base.  This was so easy...just one pass through the Stampin' Cut 'n Emboss Machine and they were done!

Next, I created a slightly smaller card for the insert and covered it with Pattern Play Designer Series Paper.  This is a host exclusive, but you could always substitute any DSP that you love.

I used the Pampered Pets Stamp Set to stamp the cats, toy mouse, and hearts on small scraps of Basic White cardstock, then die cut them with the Picture This Dies.  I colored them with assorted Stampin' Blends Markers and then adhered them to the DSP layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiments on my card were from two different stamp sets: Clever Cats from our Mini (Holiday) Catalog and Biggest Wish from our Annual Catalog.  I love being able to stretch a stamp set to use throughout the year, and that's exactly what I did with the Clever Cats stamp set.  The "Hey Crazy Cat" sentiment is fine for any time of year, but I masked off the word "Halloween" to create the inside sentiment.  I then paired it with the script "birthday" from Biggest Wish to create a custom sentiment.  I love the result and will DEFINITELY be using this quick trick often!  It's the "purr-fect" sentiment for my cat-loving friends!

3D Thursday: Craft a Mini (Jam Jar) Christmas Tree!

Jennifer Merle-Hamscher from Whispers in Ink is our amazing designer this week at 3D Thursday!  Jennifer thought outside of the box (er...jar) this week to create this adorable Christmas tree from our cute little Mini Jam Jars!  Each little jar holds cardstock boughs and a battery-operated tea light.  I really love how she displayed her tree on a small round of wood to look like the tree trunk!
